Where to resell sneakers
Sneakers are big business and if you get the right style, you can earn big returns on your investments. But once you’ve gotten your hands on the new Nike Jordan-model – then where do you go to sell them? Here’s your answer.
If you’re new to the sneaker-game, it will probably take you some time to get everything right. Which sneaker-models do you invest in, how do you get your hands on the extra-hyped styles – and how do you decide their resell-price? Of course, it’s a bloodbath out there on days when hyped sneakers launch so you have to be fast and furious to even get a pair the first time around. However, if you’ve been one lucky bastard, and there’s a pair of rare sneakers on the way to your front door, you’ll need to know where to go in order to sell the shoes for the best profit.
Where can I resell my sneakers?
There are many ways to resell your shoes. Make a deal with your friends or visit your nearest consignment retailer store such as Fight Club or Stadium Goods. However, you’ll definitely get the best profit if you take care of the sale yourself through an online platform. So how is it done?
There are multiple options for you if you’re looking for a platform to resell high end sneakers. eBay is probably one of the best-known platforms for online trade, however, in sneakers you may want to go somewhere a bit more specialized. StockX is a brilliant option, since it’s limited to the sneaker-world and it’s a platform, which sneakerheads turn to when on the lookout for collector’s items. You could also opt for Flight Club’s online site, flightclub.com. It’s like StockX, however, it’s more organized like an actual online shop rather than a marketplace, so sneakers oftentimes go for higher prices and sit for shorter time periods. The same goes for Stadium Goods, while Grailed is a marketplace for sneakers and other high end clothing items.
Try selling your sneakers on Instagram
If you want to be completely in control of the sale yourself or if you want to make an actual business out of your sneaker-purchases, you could create your own platform on Instagram. Many users do that nowadays – but remember to take your precautions when choosing Instagram as your platform. Since you’re on your own there, you have no security if scammed. When selling through one of the established marketplaces, the platform will take a percentage of the sale in commission, however, you’re typically also protected as a seller by them – in case you’re scammed in one way or another.
If you’re selling sneakers for the first time, you may want to try out several platforms to figure out which one you prefer. You can also list the same shoe on more than one platform and go with the one with the highest demand price.
However, don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. In other words: Good luck with obtaining the hyped sneakers in the first place. You’ll undoubtedly have to fight thousands of over-excited teenagers when the shoes launch.
